Ranks

Every achievement on the site is a ladder of tiers. Your rank is how many of those tiers you have earned, across everything — and it only ever goes up. There are 236 tiers in all; the top rank needs 225 of them.

The ladder

Finish every tier of every achievement and you will find there is one more.

Counting the 542 accounts ranked so far. An account is ranked the first time it does something after ranks arrived.

How it works

Three steps to a rank. Each rank below Legend is split into I, II and III. Every rank is wider than the one before it, so each takes longer to climb.
Tiers are the currency. Each achievement has between one and eight tiers. Earn a tier, and your count goes up by one — whichever achievement it came from. There is no weighting: a tier is a tier.
It never goes down. Tiers are yours once earned, and so is a rank. Come back after a year away and you are exactly where you left off — and when new achievements are added and the ladder grows, nobody drops a rank because of it.
Typing alone can take you to Master. Master needs 92 tiers — every Speed & Skill tier except the final, hardest rung of each. So you do not need 150 wpm to get there. The games, the daily challenge and everything else get you there faster; they are not required.
Legend is nearly everything. It needs 225 of the 236 tiers — 95% of every achievement on the site. You do not need every last one. But you will need almost all of them.
It has to be real typing. A test you let run without typing does not count for anything. Neither does a game mode you opened and did not play.
