SpeedTypingOnline's leaderboards, personal bests and achievements only mean something if every score was typed by a real person, live, on their own keyboard. These rules keep it that way.
Any score you didn't type yourself, live, in that test. This includes:
Custom texts are welcome for practice, but they never count toward leaderboards, personal bests or speed achievements – only texts the site chooses do.
A score that would place on a leaderboard may ask you to confirm it with a quick 30-second typing test on fresh text. Until it's confirmed, that score doesn't count toward the leaderboard, your personal bests or your speed achievements. Skipping is allowed – the score then stays in your history only.
Cheating isn't tolerated. We review scores both automatically and by hand. Any account we believe has cheated may, without warning:
These decisions are at our discretion. We don't explain how a specific account was detected – that would only help the next cheater.
Mistakes are rare but possible. Email [email protected] from the address on your account, with your username and anything you'd like us to look at. If a flag was a mistake, we'll restore your scores.
We may update these rules at any time. Continued use of the site means you accept the current version. These rules are part of our Terms of Service.
